wakestock uk winner!

This Saturday the Titahi Bay Christian Surfers are running the Annual Winter surfing competition called ‘The Hot Water Bottle Classic’. It is a really fun event where the prizes for division winners are Hot Water Bottles. It is going to be held at Titahi Bay and we’re prayin’ the waves will be pumping!!
Gdee gdee everybody. Hope the winter has been good to you so far. We havn’t has much snow yet around Canterbury but there has been enough to play round for fun!
There is a nice terrain park up at Porters, really stoked to be back on the mountain ! Havn’t had too much time in the water, despite my tasty warm new wetty. There has been waves on a couple of CHCH’s Northern beaches where the low tide banks were pretty good.
Unfortunately I have to have a moan, there has been oil in the water at New Brighton beach…might have something to do with the Ocean Outfall pipe that has reached the coastal side of construction down by Jervious Street at South Brighton…..all I know for sure is that it’s very undesirable having oil in our water! Tell Ecan to protect the oceans. On a brighter note the snow is falling right now so maybe tomorrow or Wednesday will be a freshy day up the skifields. Good luck if you can scam work off !!!!!!! Cheers .Soph
So the trend for the Remarkables slopestyle series continues with another cloudy day so its been put on hold for another day! Second monday in a row now that that has happend so heres hoping that the next one is all good!
Better news tho…the Parklife Invitational Rail Jam is on in QT this Thursday. The setup is is a down flat down rail and a down rail. Both features over a set of about 20 stairs. With about 30 riders invited from Qt and Wanaka with a few internationals it should be a awesome comp. I hear the wanaka crew is amping to get over to Qt to get on the piss more than anything!
So if you are in Qt or Wanaka this Thursday get to the comp, which starts at about 5pm. Will be some sik tricks and im guessing a few slams to match…
anyways cu there!
Rightyo, oh wow I had to check the website to work out when I had last written in and what I had done since then. I had a chance to have a few days at home last week.
Wednesday I went up to Mt Hutt to see what had been going down up there – it was pretty icy and jumping didna??t seem like a safe option at all but it was still fun to be cruising around a decent sized mountain.
Thursday morning I had a couple of international phone calls – one from Nev in whose nearly home from Whistler and another from my lil bro who’s hanging in Australia wakeboarding. That afternoon I headed back to Wanaka – it was fun to be doing the drive during the day and not having been riding that day.
The next week was pretty much a blur just riding Snow Park everyday – some good jump sessions, some good jib runs and some even better “soul shredding” with my buddy Bevan Hall.
On the Saturday it was the DVS Day in the Park Comp – cool vibe and really good weather that day. The setup was really tricky – I hadn’t hit a double kink with such a steep kink for ages and the down rail was set up too low and too flat so it was a test of everyone’s patience to ride on an hour and a half jam session. I didna??t adjust the best to the setup and didna??t make it through to the finals but I wasna??t too stressed. Some good stuff went down throughout the day and in the finals. After that disappointing showing I pretty much made it my mission to school the double kink as often as possible for the rest of the week and I was pretty happy with my results by Tuesday arvo.
Wednesday I was set to go home after riding so of course it was the best day of the trip meaning I definitely didna??t want to leave; I was stoked to learn nose grab front sevens, a bunch of new handplant tricks and some new jib moves all in one day.
Thursday I had a break from riding then it’s been back on the shred the last few days up at Mount Hutt – Friday was real fun, had some good sunshine in the afternoon but they are definitely struggling for snow after a week of nor west wind: the forecast is snow for the next 3 days so thata??s good.
So as I type this I am just planning on getting in my truck at this time tomorrow and making the 5 hour trip back to Wanaka for another week at Snow Park. Plans are to jump as much as possible and hopefully they will have most of the course setup for the Burton Open slope so I can get some practice in. The Open is going to be sick – Frank was nearly finished the pipe when I was last down so thata??s going to be all go.
So see everyone on the 7th,
Peace Timmy B
The day was set for fun from the get go. With blue skies and fresh snow Treble Cone was a sick spot. Shredders were out in force to try and take out the comp. Spy Dunbar, Olly Burke, Marcus Wehrle, Rich Hunt, Will Jackways, Juliane Bray, Abby Lockhart, Alex Harper, Phil Dominic and Will Harris were just some of the 60+ field that was out for a piece of the action.
The set up was comprised of 2 sections. The top half being a super tight section which rolled over a cattrack into the downhill part which opened out into 2 banks and then into 3 rollers to finish it off.
1st runs cranked out and a quick course touchup was done and run 2 finished off leaving a free afternoon to go slash up the saddle and get ready for the Free Corona’s that were on offer at the prizegiving.
Big thanks to Treble Cone and NZ Snowboarder Magazine for the event. Good times!!!

This was all filmed, edited and produced in 1 DAY.
Please be patient as it loads – ENJOY!!!

Just letting you know what I’ve been up to lately . . . my life has been rather full on . . I have been the first person in the country to be awarded a scholarship for another country.
I am presently in Australia doing a Surfing Studies Sports Management Course, I’m two days into the course and it is looking very interesting; we get professional surfing training out at the Casuarina Surfing Academy which will be an awesome help to my surfing.
It’s great to be back into a bikini again
How’s the snow!!!??
The Porters Heights Girls Time camp was cancelled last weekend cos the lack of snow….gutted on that one! So the next one is gearing up to be bigger and hopefully full of more girls on August the 9th and 10th… I’m looking forward for the first snow action I’ll be getting this season!!! Not to mention hanging with some grommie rippers and giving some pointers that should help out their basic approach to mountain riding, racing and terrain park ruling!
I’m getting ready for ACL surgery in a month, getting my fitness up and locking down some time on the excercycle! Trying to use my leg muscles as much as poss to get em’ ready for laying up for a while!!! I’m super stoked to get it done, but missing the snow and riding like you wouldn’t believe!
I’m already dreaming of carving it up big next season….definitely going to get as much backcountry, freeriding and club field hitting in as much as poss, not to mention getting some racing on in some comps!!!
You realise you miss speed when you gotta go slow for so long!!!
Christchurch’s Winnie Bagoes with help from Porters is holding a outdoor car park jib jam on the 17th of August…. it’ll be a big night of tricks and partying not to be missed… so if ya in the 03, definitely come check it out!
