The weather today was far less than perfect with strong winds and poor visibility which made for an interesting slopestyle qualification event although us competitors are pretty extreme dudes and everyone loves getting rad. The course is rad. This is how it’s layed out:

Chose from a stair set down-flat-down bar, down box or down rail,

then choose from a huge (biggest I’ve ever seen) bonk barrel or a 10ft high rail,

hit the 40ft table,

then choose from either a 40ft or 60ft table,

choose either a flat-down box or a down bar

finish the course off with either a frontside or backside wallride feature, wave to the girls and claim that your run was ok even though your super stoked.

There were over 80 of the worlds best riders in the qualifying event and the top 10 made it through to the semi finals tomorrow.

at least 2 NZer’s (maybe more) have made it through the qualifying rounds to through down in the semi’s. I saw NZ’s Connor Harding on the top 10 list and I’ve also made it through.

The next few days are gonna be intense so come hang out with us down here at the Snowpark.

I’ve always got a bit of Dew hanging around so if you see me come say hi and I’ll hook you up (if your worthy).

The Burton Open is all go down here at Snowpark NZ.

Today was the Halfpipe qualification event and slopestyle practice with competitors from all over the world throwing down for their share of NZ $50,000. The athlete’s this year come from every corner of the globe, even China which is forcing the NZ competitors to really step up there game.

Just flew back in to NZ last week so now I’m based back down in Wanaka for the next couple of months to get the most of the NZ season at Snowpark.

You can now fly direct from Auckland to Vancouver, Canada which make the trip way easier, especially if you can sleep on planes. It’s just like going to bed and the next day or on the other side of the world.

The Burton Open happens this week down here, biggest event of the NZ winter calendar. Get amongst it.

MD Surfing Ambassador Robbie Peck also showed up at my place in Whistler last week. Called for a few beers and catching up on good times.

Heya, blog time!!
The sun was shinning today up at Mt. Hutt!
I love it when you’re above the clouds and looking down on the misarble weather your skipping because your ontop of a mountain ripping it up!!!
The knee’s holding up good, I’m getting back into it slowly, BS180’s and ollies is as far as my trick range is going, but just riding again is so mint!!! Steady as she goes!!!!
Its really hard to hold back actually, but I know that my strength isn’t full yet, so pushing myself too far is going to end badly!!!
I also went down to the beautiful landscape of Queenstown and Wanaka for 6 days. I got 2 days up riding at Remarkables. There was a slopestyle on the 2nd day, it was cool seeing all the young ones stepping it up and local lads busting nothing but style!!!!!

Its just good to be back!!!

Just a quick update – Today we had a photo shoot with Sheildsy the photographer for ASL Magazine out at Keramas was so much fun! Oh and I got to surf with Kelly Slater yesterday, it has been so good watching all the Pros blowing up out in the water, their comp starts shortly so will good to go check it out.

This is a quick update of Bali!!!

Bali, Bali, Bali this place is crazy sick!! The roads are madness but the waves are amazing. Everyday we have been traveling to the best surfing spots with our new Balinese friend Brandan. We have got some sick waves recently at Ulus were I got my best back hand barrel it was about 6 foot and fun, (friend caught it on film too, stoked) but you had to be careful with the reef. I saw heaps of people with gashes on their backs etc from hitting the reef, so you have to always remember to spread out like a star fish when you fall off the wave.

Have also had great waves at Impossibles, Bingin, Kuta beach and Keramas. Yesterday we went to Kuta reef, this was amazing as it was about 2 km out to sea and you have to get a little boat to take you out. All you pay is about 40,000 rupiah and the Balinese guy drops you out and then picks you up a few hours later.

Oh and we went to see the checky monkeys and man were they checky a few climbed up me and then stole my studed ear ring right out of my ear with his mouth, dont know how it managed to do it with out biting my ear!! Then he pretended to bury it, after running away with it, never to be seen again. Dam checky monkey! haha

Hayo Internet world!! So’s I went along to the Final day of the Mountain Dew road Trip, out at Te Pai skatepark in west Auckland. Holy it was wet!

I took my bike just incase but the weather was way too off and on, cool to see a few people came though to play Xbox and score some free Dew and Other bits and pieces! I got to meet Sophia Moore as well a fellow Dew Athlete, one of the girl surfers, that was cool.

I snapped off a few pics on the Iphone and am now visiting my mum and dad in Tolaga Bay which is noth of Gisbourne, pretty darn quiet and pretty relaxing!!!! When I get back to Auckland I have a pretty busy couple of weeks ahead of me as I’m shooting for a huge interview in Rebelyell Bmx magazine! so that should be interesting to see if i can keep myself in one piece!!! I’ll keep you updated with some random pics!! fun times!!
