Hi Guys, Merry Christmas woo hasn’t the year flown by!  Well I’m very stoked that I made my first final of the Trial for Trials for the Quiky Pro on the Goldy.  I was wave starved in the final but all good I ended up coming in 3rd place. You can check out some pics from the event here.

Hey NZ People, So latest update on the DEW TOUR, I competed today in the semis and made it to the finals….OMG. So I’m up at 2pm Colorado time on NBC, check it if you can. One of my jobs at the moment that is slowly but surely contributing to my Canada fund is working at a horse riding venue located out in Parakai, NZ – Tasman Rides.

Here I am a trekking guide and also an instructor. Over the school holidays they hold between 1-4day camps for the kids too which Ive taken on the role as “camp mother” along with other guides we teach kids up up to 17years old how to gear up, ride and look after a horse then once the day is over I make the transformation from coach to mother-feeding and entertaining the young’ns, staying on site with them then back up at 7am nipping at there heels until there fed, showered and ready to do it all again by 9am! -I run a tight shift! hahah.

Retrieving the horses into the day stables were they will be used for school holiday camps or going out in the area,over the  farm or to the beach on separate rides throughout the day.

Hey peps, just a quickie to let ya know how the Dew Tour here in Colorado is going. We had slopestyle qualifiers today. I managed to land a good enough run to get me through!  They take top 5 out of 25 so Im stoked. So now I got semis, fingers crossed everybody…there is some big names here! Stef Z from NZ also did a great job qualifying in 2nd place. Kiwis are killing it here in USA. check the website for pics and stuff… cheers

After a wet start to the morning the skys cleared up for the inagural running of the Nelson Classic Open Downhill Mountain Bike Race on Fringed Hill in Nelson. With a good turn out of racers the morning practice went by quickly and it was soon onto loading up the trucks to start the race runs.

Frederik Austbo took the top spot in the Winter Dew Tour’s Open

Qualifier. The Open Qualifier is the only way for athletes not yet qualified for the Dew Tour to get in. Sometimes referred to as a Local Qualifier, this Qualifier had a very strong international presence. The level ranged from world class riders like Peetu Piiroinen to young kids you probably have never heard of yet, but certainly will.

Out of 42 male competitors only the top 10 got coveted Dew Tour spots. This is the only qualifying stop of the Winter Dew Tour so those that got in are stoked since they are on the Dew Tour for the entire season. On the women’s side, six should be moving on to get Dew Tour qualification.

Morena!  Last night was my last night as a 20 year old, and I wondered to myself…Have I done or achieved everything that I wanted in this year?  I possibly left it a little bit late if I hadn’t but lucky I pondered and found that yes, I was rather satisfied. It triggered another thought though and that thought was to really truely live life up and take as many opportunities as you can having as much fun as you can because your never going to get another year like the one that has just been.

On a less deep note…here is a pic of my flat mate (Yes he is dressed in a Mountain Dew outfit) His girl Mal and him let the creative juices flow when he came home and said he needed to dress in green or red at work tomorrow to show real christmas spirt. Big ups to that! Geoff will be providing many smiles today, awesome!  Have a wicked Christmas guys!!!
