Holiday of holidays

I am a very lucky lady. I have just returned from a holiday around our beautiful country, North and South Island.

We had some American friends visiting who needed to see the sights and the sounds. Kiwis don’t often get around and have an actual holiday in our own country, so  if you do I think you will get a new outlook on the amazing place we are lucky to call home.

People come from all around the world to do the stuff that is in our own backyard. I’m down with NZ hope you are too ;)

New Freads!!

Super, super stoked on this.

The guys who do Altamont clothing here in NZ, have started flowing me some clothing. It is for the most part, a skate orientated brand, but they have a bunch of other stuff on the go!

I have been a huge fan of Andrew Reynolds from day 1, from all the stuff that he’s done with Baker, right down to all his shoes for Emerica, the clothing he did with Emerica, and now all the stuff he’s now doing with Altamont (creative director).

I was a huge fan of Altamont when it came out. It was all just different, and I liked that. Silly t-shirt designs, swell fedora’s and super tight denim, but all very well made and lots of attention to detail. Fast forward a couple of years and I went into the offices here and got a bunch of swag. Super stoked and can’t thank them enough! I always find it really humbling when someone gets stoked on what you’re doing and wants to hook you up.

Growing up riding, I knew that sponsorship existed, but that was the furthest thing on my mind when I rolled out of the driveway to go for a ride. Always keeping that in mind makes me want to do all that I can for my sponsors, not just in BMX, but outside of BMX as well, normal everyday life. Again, thanks to those guys and thanks to all the people and companies that support me in any way, I am eternally thankful for your on going support!

On a lighter note, they also sponsor Theotis Beasley, a professional skater form America. It’s said that he is the nicest guy in skateboarding, so head along to the Altamont site and watch a couple of videos they have of him!

Very entertaining! www.altamontapparel.com

Big Boys Toys

Finally I am back in New Zealand and ready for the summer ahead.

I got back in at 1am Friday morning, by 9am I was down at Big Boys Toys about to start with the wake demos that would go for the whole weekend. It was an awesome time, great crowds, and the weather was pretty good too!

Now I am off to Ohope beach to hang out and film with the NZ Ronix crew for a few days to film for a TV show.

Massey University Blues Award & pre USA farm life antics…

Can’t believe I depart NZ for the USA for 6 months THIS weekend! Already going back to winter… I guess getting a tan is out of the question for now! Haha.

Exams are done, fingers crossed for a pass! Stoked to receive a Massey University Blues Award though! Check out the pimp trophy…

Once again the last few days before I leave means running around like a headless chicken, trying to generate a vague plan for the next 6 months of my life… On the rare occasion that I am not working, studying or snowboarding I do just love getting amongst some farm life with the family…

Of course then there is the going away BBQ… any excuse for a social gathering which includes wine, good food and great people! =)

Well, next stop… Breckenridge, Colorado, USA!!!!! =)

Ps. Doing the Dew pocket edition styles…..

Living in Fijian style!

Bula! …from the Fiji Palms!

Finished my degree last week (nek minit), off to Fiji.

Life is good as a Fijian, you smile at everyone, say hi to everyone, and everyone is the same back. The palm trees are there to remind you that you live in one of the better places on Earth and the swimming is amazing due to it’s temperature being equal to it’s neighbour – the air.

Check out the fruit they have.  I eat mine this way each morning and it tastes better than ice cream, which I didn’t think was possible. I could do with an icy cold Dew, on that note.

I brought my skateboard along but haven’t had any luck, closest thing to it has been cruising a golf course with Dad…

Fiji isn’t always perfect – like today we went for a family trip into Suva, the capital. I came here 10 years ago but this time I took my GO-PRO and got some pretty amazing photos – fisheyes are for cheats I say.

Oh yeah, my brother got a little sun burnt and I thought his leg+burn+pants resembled the French flag.
