Margret river has put on some really fun waves with a bit of size and punch. It has been such a good experience to surf over here!

I had quite a successful day yesterday winning my first heat of the day which put me into the round of 48 I then had some very stiff competition going up against two (WCT) surfers these girls have been on World tour for many years already. They surf in the events to give them more rating points in case they don’t have the best year on the World Circuit Tour. And I had a brazilian girl in my heat also. I gave it a good shot getting a really good wave but couldn’t back it up with another top scorer! The conditions changed the South westerly was howling and there were a few big bomb sets (6metres high) so it was tough. I just missed out on getting through as I got 3rd and the top 2 girls get into the next round.

I ended up coming 25th out of 64 girls but still picked up $350 us cheque for my efforts. Not too bad considering I was only meant to be a reserve. Plus this is my first proper QS competition and my first time over on the West side!! Ive just had the taste of the QS and I would just love to do some more!! Everyone was still really stoked for me which was nice

Now I get to hang out and free surf and try to score some sick big waves!! We should have some footage of the event and some free surfing stuff being posted soon so keep an eye out!!
