Saturday the 5th of December hosted the 6th annual Dero Golf tournament. The dress code this year was 80′s Rockstars. Rob Mitchell is to blame for this extremely competitive, exciting, fun and quite boozy event. Its held at Summer Hills golf course in Mount Maunganui…epic spot! It was my first trip to Dero Golf and Rob picked me up from the airport with a car full of booze and a big roaster for the pig and lamb…I could tell it was going to be good times.
On Saturday morning I managed to get a surf in with Rob and Tim then it was up to the course the get it all setup. Animals on the spit, kegs tapped, 80′s gears ready to go…
With 2 kegs finished, registration complete, weather clearing, it was time for the teams to spread out around the course. I think as soon as we got to the tee the clouds burnt off and it turned into a mean day of crazy golf. With the Ambrose style of play things went quite well. My team consisted of Karl Dunham, fellow MD Team member Shelly Gotlieb, Vic and Matt. Think we drew with the team we were playing with and we were a couple of shots off the pace at the end. Hopefully Shelly puts a few pics up because my battery went flat…
