My last chance to shine and increase my final rating all came to a holt a few too many rounds early on the weekend at Port Waikato. Instead of making the final and winning the event like planned, I was pushed out of the contest in round two by a past and present national champ.
My round two heat consisted of Daniel Proctor (NZ champ) Kelly Ryan (past NZ champ), Dave Elley a Raglan ripper, me and not too many waves as you can see in these pics . . .

My first wave was my only one that peeled and didn’t close out (aparantly this wave was on TV1 news haha). But just like in Whangamata I missed out on making it through by a close margin.
It was an awesome rest of the weekend though. Good weather, real good people, and some pretty fun surf down the beach a bit. Huge Congrats to MD Ambassador Daisy Thomas who won the womans division of the event and the overall tour title!!
