What up crew! Just another update from sunny California

We havena??t had any new snow but have still been having a great time riding in the park. Went to Northstar last thursday had a great day on the rails – filmed for one or 2 runs on Robett Holiss’s cool new camera phone so check out www.nzsnowboard.com for updates there. The jumps had short landings so didn’t really get into those as I have been spoilt at Sierra. We did however check the stash run out at the end of the day. Its a run full of natural terrain molded for snowboard and ski freestyle fun. It has all natural products and is mostly a bunch of tree slides, stalls, bonks and so on – it has a hut which u can ride up and back down or pop over the top which is dedicated to the memory of craig kelly one of the pioneers of freestyle snowboarding. It has some huge road gaps with the kickers made out of trees too, Unfortunately due to the lack of snow it has been shut but as soon as it snow i will be heading up there to score pillow lines and have fun in the trees.

Friday was a very amazing day at sierra riding with my boy Bevan Hall he managed to discover the dodgiest pillow line ever in the trees off the side of a run it was rock takeoff to pillow over a tree and another snow covered rock. We had obsoletely no idea what was lying at the bottom but super coach Jody Blachley stepped into the unknown – it turned out to be reasonable safe and he and Bevan both survived their rag doll experiences. I dropped last and was the only1 to stick it – so stoked. But the smiles and laughs didn’t stop there we decided to ride the rest of the run back to the bus one footed which was all fine and good until Jody instructed me slide a flat box on my boot – I actually thought I would stick and just have to put my board back down on the snow and push off but it slid amazingly well. So well I landed flat on my back much to the boys amusement but all this provided much amusement for the North Island kids we are coaching as they had taken a speedy run down and had saved us seats on the bus.

Saturday we rode night park at heavenly which was fun. We convinced the grommets to come out after X Games of course which was just massive over here – pretty much every tv was tuned in – cant wait to see how the super bowl is in a week or 2.

Apart from that not much to report i am getting loser and closer to getting one of my goals to land all four sevens in a day. Last time I jumped I had all four fives in the morn and i got 2 sevens and some cab9′s so yeah pretty happy with that – i have been riding heaps of rails but definitely want to jump as much as possible but we think we will set up some street rails as soon as the snow comes. Riding lots with some amazing kids from new jersey so that is a lot of fun – we are hoping to go to alpine meadows tomorrow morn to ride a really fun jump line – i think its 5 jumps in a row and then maybe Northstar for jibbing some rails in the arvo.

Been hooking into the Mountain Dew Code Red its great stuff and there a Mountain Dew energy drink which is advertised too – i think i’ll have to get my hands on a box for all the early morn starts we’ve had recently.

cool catch all you NZ based players in a month or so

peace tim
