10 clips with Mr Mike B.
January 25, 2012 by Haimona Ngata (Freestyle BMX)
So Mike B and I headed down to Vic park for a bit of a roll the other day. I had just been at a shoot all day and had my camera with me so we decided to shoot a couple of clips.
Below is the result, 10 Clips with Mike Bancroft. We met up with Brett Band for a bit of a roll too, more about that later!
LIVE INTERVIEW ON TVNZ U!
January 25, 2012 by Haimona Ngata (Freestyle BMX)
So yesterday I was on live TV with the guys from TVNZ U! Pretty funny, it was super short notice, but worked out sweet as!
I was on there to talk about the latest episode of AIRTIME, an action sports show which is on Monday nights at 9.25 on U.
Last night’s episode featured myself and a few buddies riding a secret spot in Auckland. We talked about BMX, filming, and a whole bunch of other funny stuff! Ha-ha!
A quick pic that I got while waiting to go on air. I was gonna take more but my iPhone ran out of space! Argh, typical!
Thanks again to the U guys for having me, and check out TVNZ U right here!
My long time parts sponsor, The Shadow Conspiracy has just done a huge collab with clothing company Rebel 8, and the outcome is awesome!
Totally hand crafted Subrosa frame set complete with Shadow parts, hand painted by Rebel 8′s Mike Giant!
That thing looks sick!

Whew, finally finished!!
January 10, 2012 by Haimona Ngata (Freestyle BMX)
Whew, well, after a very long time I finally finished up the backyard deck/ramp at my house.
Stoked how it all turned out! My brother in-law built and designed the deck, with the whole idea of it having a small slant that would lead into a Quarter Pipe.
He was super quick and zippy, and I still have no idea how he calculated so many measurements. I just watched, drank Dew’s and nodded my head with approval!

Although the ramp isn’t the biggest ramp in the world, it will still be fun to have a skate or a ride on while cooking sweet feeds on the barbecue!
I just got done painting it before New Year’s and then headed away for a week. Super stoked to ride it when I got back, but it was raining!
Expect some riding photos soon and I might have to get a big Dew ramp sticker made up for it, to go along with the Vans ramp stickers!
A quick Music Vid I edited!
December 13, 2011 by Haimona Ngata (Freestyle BMX)
Here’s a quick music video that I did the post production on, Savage featuring Ria ‘I Promise’ from the upcoming movie Sione’s Wedding 2.
I was contacted by the producer, who needed the video edited/graded/delivered in a couple of days. A really tight turnaround for a full music video, but I’m used to that sort of timeframe. I did all the editing/grade work, and added a couple of digital light flares here and there to warm the video up a lil bit!
Keep an eye out for the movie being released early next year! Cooooool!
Super, super stoked on this.
The guys who do Altamont clothing here in NZ, have started flowing me some clothing. It is for the most part, a skate orientated brand, but they have a bunch of other stuff on the go!
I have been a huge fan of Andrew Reynolds from day 1, from all the stuff that he’s done with Baker, right down to all his shoes for Emerica, the clothing he did with Emerica, and now all the stuff he’s now doing with Altamont (creative director).
I was a huge fan of Altamont when it came out. It was all just different, and I liked that. Silly t-shirt designs, swell fedora’s and super tight denim, but all very well made and lots of attention to detail. Fast forward a couple of years and I went into the offices here and got a bunch of swag. Super stoked and can’t thank them enough! I always find it really humbling when someone gets stoked on what you’re doing and wants to hook you up.
Growing up riding, I knew that sponsorship existed, but that was the furthest thing on my mind when I rolled out of the driveway to go for a ride. Always keeping that in mind makes me want to do all that I can for my sponsors, not just in BMX, but outside of BMX as well, normal everyday life. Again, thanks to those guys and thanks to all the people and companies that support me in any way, I am eternally thankful for your on going support!
On a lighter note, they also sponsor Theotis Beasley, a professional skater form America. It’s said that he is the nicest guy in skateboarding, so head along to the Altamont site and watch a couple of videos they have of him!
Very entertaining! www.altamontapparel.com
New 2020 BMX mag is out!!
October 28, 2011 by Haimona Ngata (Freestyle BMX)
I just got the new 2020 BMX magazine in the mail. They’ve changed the mag up a bit, it’s now printed on a SUPER nice papery stock…kinda feels like a coffee table magazine more than a normal ‘magazine’!
There’s a lil article in it about the Mountain Dew Pinball Skatepark which talks about the idea, what went down and the lay out of the park. It also includes one of the pics that I shot while riding the park, including my broken foot. I could only manage about 2 or 3 PR pictures riding the park, as every time I’d shoot a picture I’d have to stop and sit down for 10 minutes to let my broken foot have a rest, pop some pain killers, then try again. Bit of a painful experience. BLAH!
Anyways, it’s out now in all good magazine stores so rush out and nab it! Way cool!

Here’s a couple of quick pics from the first public day at Vic Park, hopefully going to shoot some riding pics soon, if my foot holds up. Went and saw a specialist and I need a full on operation to fix it, screws etc, and I’ll be out for 6-8 weeks!!!! yikes! So I’m thinking I’ll just handle the pain for this summer, get some riding done, then get it fixed next year. Can’t miss out on an awesome looking summer, new skatepark etc!!!
More soon!
